Scheme Of Examination And Evaluation

 1. Weekly test papers will be returned to students within ten days of the test. Parents are requested to sign the test reports and maintain                  effective communication with the school through the almanac.

2. The academic year will be divided into two terms and examination will be held at the end of each term.

3.Half Yearly Examination Sept-Oct. 2019

4.Final Examination March 2020

 5.The syllabus in all subjects will be divided into two terms. Details are given in the complied assignments.

 6. Weekly tests will be held in all subjects according to the schedule given in the almanac.

  7.Evaluation will be based on student’s continuous academic performance during the year. Weightage for weekly tests, half yearly and final         examination is given below.

Classes VI-VIII

The syllabus for final exams for classes VI-VIII will include certain percent of syllabus of first term. Class wise breakup is given below. 

Periodic Assessment in each term will comprise of 20 marks. The division of marks is as follows:

        * Average of Weekly Tests conducted under each term will be for 10 marks.

       * Note book submission will comprise of 5 marks in each terms.

        * Subject Enrichment assessment will comprise of 5 marks in each terms.

        * Written Exam for 80 marks will be conducted at the end of each term.

Notebook Submission (5 marks) :

Notebook submission as a part of assessment is aimed at enhancing seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.

Subject Enrichment Assessment (5 marks) :

These are subject specific application activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development. These activities are recorded by respective subject teachers. 

Pre-Nursery-1

Students of Pre-Nursery, Prep & I will be assessed on the basis of their day to day performance. No formal examination or tests will be conducted for them.

Classes II-V

Students scoring 40% and above in all subjects and in the aggregate will qualify for promotion to the next class.

Letter grades will be given in the following areas of learning

    * Work Experience

    * Physical Education

    * Computer Science (Classes II-V)

    * IIIrd Language (Classes IV-V)

    * Assignments (Formal & Informal)

Students found using unfair means during any assessment will be marked zero in that subject. No retest will be held for such students and they will not be eligible for any academic awards or school appointments. Scheduled of reports to be sent to parents.

Weekly test marks will be entered in the almanac. Parents are requested to sign in the given column.

Classes II-V

- Ist report based on Weekly Test and Half Yearly Examination 

- 2nd Report based on Weekly Test and Final Examination

Class : IX and X

The examination for classes IX and X would be conducted as per the structure explained below.

1. Scholastic Areas:

The academic year will be divided into three terms and examination will be held at the end of each term.

Final/Board Examination for classes IX and X would be conducted for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus.

Class – IX. School-based evaluation for 20 marks comprising Written Test (10 marks) restricted to three in each subject in an Academic year, Notebook Submission (5 marks) and Subject Enrichment Assessment (5 marks) will be considered.

School will conduct Class-IX examination for 80 marks in each subject. The gradually increasing portion of contents would prepare students to acquire confidence of appearing in the board examination next year in Class-X. Evaluation for 20 marks comprising Written Test (10 marks) restricted to three in each subject in an Academic year, Notebook Submission (5 marks) and Subject Enrichment Assessment (5 marks) will be considered.

Class : IX and X

i) Periodic Test (10 marks)

Average of the best two test to be taken for final marks submission.

The school will conduct three periodic tests in the entire academic year and the average of the best two will be taken. For the purpose of gradient learning, three tests will be held as one being the mid-term and other two beings pre mid and post midterm with portion of syllabus cumulatively covered. The gradually increasing portion of contents would prepare students acquire confidence of appearing in the Board examination with 100% syllabus. The school will take the average of the best two tests for final marks submission.

ii) Notebook Submission (5 marks)

Notebook submission as a part of internal assessment is aimed at enhancing seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.

iii) Subject Enrichment Assessment (5 marks)

These are subject specific application activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development. These activities are to be recorded internally by respective subject teachers.

2. Co-Scholastic Activities:

The following activities will be graded on a 5-point grading scale (A to E) and will have no descriptive indicators. No up scaling of grades will be done.

i) Work Education on Pre-Vocational:

Work education is a distinct curricular area for students for participation in social, economic and welfare activities.

ii) Art Education:

Consists of Visual and Performing Arts. It is an important area of curricular activity for development of wholesome personality of the student. Students will be assessed for drawing, painting, art and craft etc. or performing arts for dance, drama, music etc.

iii) Health and Physical Education:

Consists of Health and Physical Activities Sports, Gymnastics, Yoga, Swimming, First Aid, Scouting and Guiding, Gardening / Sharamdaan.

3. Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, Behaviour, Values):

Discipline significantly impacts career shaping and it helps build character. Sincerity, good behaviour and values develop strength and foster unity and co-operation. Therefore, the element of discipline has been introduced. Class teacher will be grading the students on a Five-point scale (A to E).

Assessment in Co-Scholastic area will be done on a 5 point scale.
